The Games for the Golden Herdsman's Harp
Welcome to the Alpine Cheese Olympics in Galtür, Tyrol - the heart of Alpine cheese culture. This unique event attracts cheese lovers and alpine dairies from all over the Alps to celebrate tradition and culinary highlights. More than 100 Alpine dairies from Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Liechtenstein compete with their best cheeses, which are judged by a panel of experts. These cheeses have unique flavours influenced by the alpine flora. Visitors can taste the variety of cheeses, from creamy soft to tangy hard, and talk directly to the producers about the production process and the stories behind the cheeses. An unforgettable experience that combines tradition, quality and culinary excellence.

The highlight of the International Alpine Cheese Olympics? As a visitor, you have the chance to sample a wide range of cheese specialties from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm – whether you're a fan of Alpine and mountain cheese, Emmentaler, or Tilsit, or have a preference for different textures. Mark the date and experience the Olympics of good taste in Galtür!

- 11:00 am: Official opening by the jury and cheese blessing.
- 3:00 pm: Welcome of the honorary guests, procession from the village square with the Galtür Brass Band, the traditional costume group, and the Galtür Rifle Company.
- 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Air rifle shooting at the rifle club's venue.
- 12:00 - 3:00 pm: Enjoy musical entertainment by "Die Schneidig'n."
- 4:00 - 8:00 pm: "Galtür Syndikat" takes over for an engaging performance.
- 8:00 pm: The cheese awards ceremony with the Galtürer Sennerharfe is the evening's highlight.
- from 9:00 pm onwards: Dance and revel in the atmosphere with "VOLKSBEAT."
- 11:00 am - 6:00 pm: Tastings and sales opportunities, hosted by Manuel Horeth.
- 11:00 am - 3:00 pm: Enjoy the musical entertainment of "Die Fidelen Milser."
- 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm: "Men N’Blech" will entertain you with their music.
- from 8:30 pm onwards: Dance and have fun with "Die Rieder Gipfelstürmer."
