Intro
Beautiful loop with a challenging ascent to the beautifully situated "Oberen Sessladalpe".
Description
A beautiful circuit encompassing a challenging ascent up to the beautifully situated Obere Sessladalpe. From the point in Kappl, the route follows a steep section up to the forest and then along a leisurely stretch to the Ruhesteinkapelle chapel, an idyllically located treasure which you come across around 2.5 km into the ride. At the following crossing, bear left and after crossing the Sessladbach, take the long ascent up along some pleasant forest paths through the Sinser Wald forest. At the bend after approx. 7 km, turn off right onto a cart path which follows a somewhat wild and overgrown course across some very steep slopes and across to the Untere Sessladalpe. The ascent up to the Obere Sessladalpe presents a sporty challenge due to the 370 m elevation gain over 2.6 km but is well worth it thanks to the dreamy panoramic views.
The return journey runs along the same route to the Untere Sessladalpe and from here through the Wolfgangwald forest back to Kappl.
Arrival
The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.
