Description
Culinary treats and a sun terrace await at the Idalp. As part of the Ironbike Festival, the Alpenhaus Trophy route invites bikers to compete by floodlight. This route covers approx. 1,000 m of altitude along a steadily climbing asphalt road. The route heads off towards the Fimbatal valley from the outset, running uphill to the middle station of the Fimbabahn or Silvrettabahn cable car. It is also worth taking a detour to the Schwarzwassersee and Pardatscher-See lakes. Form here, the road weaves its way up towards the Pardatschgratbahn cable car. The views down into the original Fimbatal valley and to the Gamspleis peak become increasingly more impressive. Once at the Idalp, the sun terrace is the perfect place to stop off for refreshments. On the route back to Ischgl, you can either take the road or the lively Paznauner Taja Trail (page 46) down towards the Fimbatal valley. Another option is the signposted connecting route 7090 up to the starting point at the Flimjochbahn mountain station.
Arrival
The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.
Parking
Parking lot at the Silvrettaseilbahn.
Public transport
With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley. Bus stop: Ischgl Silvrettabahn
