Intro
Through a long and solitary valley into the breath-taking high Alpine terrain.
Description
From the start point in the centre, the route leads south and quickly comes to a road which runs into the Jamtal valley. The route back covers 10 km and approx. 600 m of altitude before reaching the destination at the Jamtalhütte lodge. The tour is accompanied throughout by fantastic views of the glaciated peaks in the Lower Jamtal valley. The landscapes of this peaceful valley are characterised by the typical Tyrolean Alpine farming and various grazing animals are a constant companion. Two of the Alpine lodges – the Menta-Alm and Scheibenalm – serve refreshments in summer and are perfect for topping up your energy levels. The tour to the lodge again follows some steeper sections so it is important not to underestimate the fitness level required. The Jamtalhütte lodge is part of the Swabia section of the German Alpine Association and is one of the most important support points for mountaineers, climbers and ski tourers in the Silvretta region.
