Spinnscharte - Schönjöchl

The hike begins in See with an ascent by cable car to the Medrigalm at 1,800 metres. From there, the ascent leads along a road in the direction of the Ascher Hütte lodge and further along trail no. 711 up to the Spinnscharte at 2,681 metres, which offers an impressive view of the surrounding mountains. The subsequent descent is via the Spinnsee lakes before continuing into the Urgtal valley via the Spinnseeweg trail. After an ascent to the Zwölferkopf at 2,596 metres, you finally reach the Schönjöchl. On the way back, you have the option of taking the Schönjöchl cable car to Fiss-Dorf. From there, the return journey to See can be made comfortably by bus or a pick-up service. It is recommended to check the current operating times of the cable cars and bus timetables in advance.
