The event at a glance

When the Tyrolean Christmas idyll is broken by loud bells and the rattling of chains, that can only mean one thing. All those who may not have been so good over the year get queasy. Because they know: the Nikolaus comes to Ischgl not only with gifts, but also with his devilish companion - the Krampus.

It gets particularly frightening when an entire pass of the wild fellows roams through the village, swinging their rods dangerously!

Eerily beautiful: the Ischgl Krampus run

All scallywas under the angels should be especially careful on 5 December. The wild devils are up to mischief at the Ischgl Krampus run. Accompanied by devil's vehicles, a wild pack of Krampussen pulls through the village to the parking lot of the Silvrettabahn. With their traditional wooden masks and rods, they teach young and old to fear in their mystical spectacle - the horror factor is extra high! It's a good thing that St. Nicholas also has a say on this day! He's sure to conjure up a present or two out of the sack for the good children...

But be careful: some Krampus were spotted in the dark alleys of Ischgl even after the run - so stay good!
