The motto for August 6th, 2022 is hard, harder, Ischgl Ironbike. The legendary cult race is one of the toughest and most demanding mountain bike races in Europe and a must for any mountain bike enthusiast. New in 2022: Four distances with specially designated UCI courses for men and women. Registration is possible as of now.
Mark the date: The 27th Ischgl Ironbike will take place from August 3rd to 6th, 2022. On the program: the legendary Ischgl Ironbike Marathon with the four courses Light, Medium, Hard and Extreme, the Individual Time Trial, the Short Track and the night-time Alpenhaus Trophy up the Idalp. All four races can be completed by amateurs and professionals individually or, for those who collect UCI points, as part of the four split Ischgl Ironbike UCI Stage Race S1. The mountain bike event is rounded off by the Kids & Junior Trophy, a fox hunt for e-mountain bikers and a colourful supporting program with guided tours in the impressive backdrop of the Silvretta Massif. Ischgl Ironbike UCI Stage Race S1
Those who want to secure the overall victory in the Stage Race and collect valuable UCI points for the world rankings must complete all four races of the Ischgl Ironbike UCI Stage Race S1 in best times. The race will start with the Alpenhaus Trophy ,a nightly race up the mountain to the Idalp (3.8.). It continues with the individual time trial (4.8.) and the spectacular Short Track (5.8.). On Saturday the highlight, the legendary Ischgl Ironbike Marathon (6.8.) takes place, where the women must complete in the UCI course Hard and the men in the UCI course Extreme. All times will be added up for the Stage Race overall result. The fastest time wins. The race is open to professionals and amateurs and is scored separately for both classes.
Stage 1: Ischgl Ironbike Alpenhaus Trophy
Almost 1,000 meters of altitude at night await the participants of the Alpenhaus Trophy on August 3rd from 7:30 pm. The floodlit route covers 7.27 kilometres and 980 meters of elevation gain from the centre of Ischgl to Idalp. The finish line is the Alpenhaus, located at 2,320 meters.
Stage 2: Ischgl Ironbike individual time trial
The participants of the Ischgl Ironbike UCI Stage Race S1 will start their second stage on August 4th with an exciting individual time trial. The circuit leads over 7.34 kilometres and 249 meters of altitude. The race will take place on asphalt and gravel against the clock and the competition.
Stage 3: Ischgl Ironbike Short Track
The spectacular Short Track promises heated head-to-head duels on August 5th. The motto for all sprinting participants: give it all you've got on the 1.34-kilometer circuit over just under 25 minutes.
Stage 4: Ischgl Ironbike Marathon
On Saturday, August 6th, things will get exciting at the legendary Ischgl Ironbike Marathon. At the cult race, which is one of the toughest mountain bike races in Europe, the four routes Light (24.9 km / 670 m elevation gain), Medium (44.7 km / 1,890 m elevation gain), Hard (58.3 km / 2,580 m elevation gain) and Extreme (71.0 km / 3,200 m elevation gain) lead through the impressive scenery of the Silvretta Massif and are open to all riders. New in 2022: Who wants to collect UCI points this year, is bound to the specially assigned distances. Who will be crowned the overall winner of the Ischgl Ironbike UCI Stage Race S1 will be decided by the women on the Hard course and the men on the Extreme course. Good to know: The Ischgl Ironbike Marathon is part of the "ÖRV Marathon Cup" and the "Mountain Bike Challenge".
Fox hunt for e-mountain bikers
On August 3rd, the e-mountain bikers get their turn and duel with "Fox" Andi Goldberger at the e-bike fox hunt. After the start in Ischgl, the "hunters" have 7.27 kilometres and 980 meters of elevation gain to catch up with the "fox". Successful hunters will be rewarded with 100 euros.
Register quickly saves money
Early bookers save real money at the Ischgl Ironbike: participation in the Ischgl Ironbike Marathon costs 35 euros instead of 71 euros for the Light route and 46 euros instead of 81 euros for the Medium, Hard and Extreme routes until December 31, 2021. Those who only want to compete in the Alpenhaus Trophy will pay 31 euros instead of 54 euros until December 31. Participants in the E-Bike Fox Hunt pay 31 instead of 54 euros when registering by December 31. Participants in the Ischgl Ironbike UCI Stage Race S1 pay 77 euros instead of 136 euros when registering by December 31, 2021.
