Intro
Difficult hike from See valley station Medrigjochbahn to Hexenkopf
Description
The cable brings you up to 1.800 m. Around 100 metres from the mountain station you take the fork in the road to Istalanztal. Keep right on this forest road until you reach the fresh babbling Istalanzbach stream. This is where the long-drawn out Istalanztal to Masnerjoch (2.685 m) begins. The Joch provides an impressive view to Hexensee and the annexed lodge, set in the Serfaus Alpine area. A very stoney and rocky path finally takes you to the bleak yet impressive Hexenkopf. Here with a bit of luck you will catch sight of ibex in the bare rock walls!
Return section: same route for the return leg – from the mountain station you can get back to the valley via gondola. Please note the cable car operating hours for your return journey!
Note: The mountain tour is only for experienced people. Please note that you take the first ascent at 08.30 a.m. so that you can still catch the last descent at 17.00 p.m..
Arrival
The autoroute (A12 (westbound) or A14 (eastbound)) leads you to the Arlbergschnellstraße (S 16). At the exit for Pians, turn onto the Paznauntalstraße (B 188) and follow its course into the Paznaun.
Parking
